In FeedbackFruits, an activity is one LMS module item or assignment. Activities can be added as an assignment with the submission type External tool, or as a module item.

A task is one step within the activity, such as submitting something, giving feedback or assigning a grade. One activity usually consists of multiple tasks. Some tasks are converted into a PDF that learners can import and view in Portflow; other tasks are not imported at all.

Set up the FeedbackFruits activity

1. Create or open the FeedbackFruits activity in your LMS. Choose whether it should be an assignment or a module item.

   If learners should import a grade, add the FeedbackFruits activity as an LMS assignment. Grades are imported from the LMS assignment and are not available when the activity is only added as a module item.

2. Choose an activity type that can be imported into Portflow. See the overview below.

3. Add the tasks that learners need to complete. If you want, you can change the task name. Portflow uses the teacher-edited task names when naming the imported files.

4. Publish the activity or assignment.

What learners can import into Portflow

When a learner imports a FeedbackFruits activity into Portflow, the following information can be imported:

• Metadata, including the activity or assignment name in the LMS, activity type, download date, learner name, and whether the activity was individual work or collaboration work. For collaboration work, the group name is included.

• Submitted files and contributions, such as media, documents, discussion contributions, and other learner submissions. Quizzes, AI practice chats, and teacher-created content are not imported.

• Feedback, comments, and rubric scores from the learner, peers, or teachers. Feedback-on-feedback, feedback instructions, notes, and coach tips are not imported.

  • Feedback is imported as a generated PDF document.

  • Rubric scores and feedback are imported as a Portflow rubric. The feedback provider’s name is matched to a Portflow user where possible.

  • Anonymous feedback remains anonymous in Portflow.

• Grade, when the FeedbackFruits activity is connected to an LMS assignment. Grades are not imported when the activity is added as a module item.
